THE SURF
Portugals Central Coast is a surfiing nirvana, world class waves to be had at both ends of this coast from Ericeira to Peniche. For surfers with a sense of adventure, there are plenty of uncrowded, high quality waves to be had along the coast between these two surfing hot spots.
Because it is a peninsula Peniche breaks in a huge variety of conditions. On days when Ericeira is maxed out, Peniche will still be delivering epic tubes at Supertubos, one of the best beachbreaks in the world. At the eastern end of the bay lies Baleal also on a peninsula. This setup means that there are beaches facing almost every direction imaginable. The result is is super consistant area of high quality waves.

WHO WILL IT APPEAL TO?
The quaint fishing port of Peniche lies in the shelter of a great headland on Portugal's rugged Atlantic coast. Peniche is a paradox, it is both ugly and extremely beautiful. The old walled town with its formidable walls and stunning harbour is picturesque and steeped in history. In stark contrast to the sardine processing factory and industrial area just outside the old town. The stunningly beautiful beaches and epic surf more than make up for this gross oversight in city planning.
