KITESURFING HOLIDAYS IN THE CARIBBEAN (NORTH AMERICA)
KITESURFING HOLIDAYS IN GUADELOUPE (FRENCH CARIBBEAN)
You can kitesurf all the year round in Guadeloupe and the water and air temperatures are balmy.
Guadeloupe comprises of five islands in total: Basse-Terre, Grande-Terre (separated from Basse-Terre by a narrow sea channel called salt river) with the adjacent islands of La Désirade, Les Saintes and Marie-Galante.
Further to the north, Saint-Barthélemy and the French part of Saint Martin come under the jurisdiction of Guadeloupe. With approx. 306 km's of coastline these islands are littered with 'secret spots'.
The best kitesurfing season is from December to June but you can kite all year round (with the possible exception of September/October which is hurricane season). The Trade Winds, blow nearly the whole year but are more intense in spring/summer. The wind can vary from 10 to 30 knots but is about 12 knots on average. You'll generally be using a 16 kite or a 12 in winter. The water is a balmy 28°C all year round.
