KITESURFING HOLIDAYS IN FUERTEVENTURA
Fuerteventura is the second largest of all the Canary Islands but the least populated. It’s famous for its massive sand dunes, pristine white sandy beaches, clear warm waters, pleasant all year round climate, consistent trade winds, surf and laid back Canarian pace of life. Being only a 4 hour flight from most European cities it’s an ideal place to kick back, relax and learn how to kitesurf or improve your kiteboarding skills.
The North is where tourism first developed on the island and the town of Corralejo is now an established resort offering all the usuall tourist facilities. Flag Beach on outskirts of the Corralejo is the main kitesurfing area in the north and is considered to be one of the most consitent summer locations in Europe. The South by contrast is a quieter place with less tourism thanks to restricted development. Sotavento located a short drive from the tranquil resort of Costa Calma is the main kitesurfing area in the south. Sotavento is a legendary kitesurf spot and each year it hosts the annual Professional Kitesurfing World Cup. Both spots offer a variety of kitesurfing conditions to suit all levels and abilities.
Our range of kitesurfing holidays below have been designed to suit most tastes/budgets and will appeal to single travellers, couples, friends and families. We can cater for everybody from absolute beginners who have never kitesurfed before to intermediates who have completed a course elsewhere and need to improve, to seasoned kitesurfers who are just looking for accommodation to rent in the best kitesurfing locations.

Kitesurfing in the north of Fuerteventura takes place on the outskirts of Corralejo at Flag and Glass Beach. The wind is predominantly cross-shore and the kiteboarding spot forms part of a 6-7 km stretch of fine white sandy beach, where about 3 km has been reserved for kitesurfing. The best months for kitesurfing here are from March to late September when the trade winds are in full swing and the waters tend to be flatter. However outside these months there’s still a good chance of wind and courses/rental are operated all year.
Kitesurfing in the south of Fuerteventura takes place on the outskirts of Costa Calma at Sotavento. The wind is predominantly cross-offshore and the kiteboarding spot forms part of a long stretch of fine white sandy beach. Sotavento lies directly in a wind accelaration zone and as such it’s the islands most consistently windy place. In summer the winds can reach speeds of up to 9 Bft (45 knots). The spot also benefits from having a large shallow lagoon which provides ideal conditions for beginners/intermediates.
